The Kia Optima continues for another model year, while his cousin Hyundai Sonata gets a complete redesign for 2015. This is good, because the Optima has always been an advanced student of design, and remains almost ko was at the time launch four years ago. It still a strong voice of many aspects, with good performance, a spacious interior and a large version of value factor no matter what.In mid cycle to renew last year actually did a lot of confusion with interesting features of the Optima and thats saying a lot of note that, even next to sleek contemporary models such as the Ford Fusion and Mazda 6, the Optima keeps pace. These changes were largely confined to one aspect sharper front end, tail magazine, and some new finishes, with LED lighting and new LED fog lamps to be had on some of the model line. Thus, there is a new EX L (limited) model with a plush leather interior Nappa. And this year there is a new dark interior cloth LX base.
The cabin of the 2015 Kia Optima keeps sporty and clean, with a sleek, minimalist look cockpit reminiscent of the interiors of Audi a few years ago, with a large rectangular bank of controls inclined towards the driver. New instrument panel display TFT display and a premium infotainment occupy some much needed new space, surrounded by some finishes to date.
2015 Kia Optima Performance
There are three different flavors of the performance of 2015 Kia Optima. All three deliver responsive, economic performance. But what may come as a surprise to some who have not been on the market for a car several years is that there is only one V 6 to see is only four cylinder engines under the hood well, that and a few other special hardware such as turbochargers and hybrid systems in some versions. At a basic level, and on all but the SX model, you get a 200 horsepower, 2.4 liter four cylinder with direct injection. Its a little rough, when you need to access its full potential, but it works well with the six speed automatic transmission, because it is a sack full of life in the mid rounds. Those who chose the V 6 in the past will not be very pleased with the sporty SX model and its 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder 274 hp. And with the new drive select system that is included in the model SX, you get different modes that control different transmission shift points and steering weighting.
Who wants to make a big change in their habits of oil will be very happy with the Optima Hybrid, with its battery system, electric motor and lithium polymer battery pack that couple with a four cylinder engine and six speed automatic transmission (not a CVT). Last year the company has made some changes subtle (but significant) that add up to far better driveability and up to 36 mpg city, 40 highway.
We do not by any means call the Optima a sports sedan, but with his rather firmly tuned suspension and reasonably good control of the body, the Optima is a lean, feel confident on a curvy road, with the direction that it is hard but better weighted by some models of this class as Hyundai Sonata cousin of Optima.
2015 Kia Optima Interior and Feature
2015 Kia Optima has one of the interior more comfortable and usable in its class, even though the numbers might say, however, in some aspects. Getting in and out of the rear seat can be a bit difficult because of the roof line but once inside, it is wide enough to fit three, with just enough headroom. Heated and cooled front seats available Heated rear view mirror, too the Optima and the rear seats can be heated, too. In previous years we noticed that the Optima is a bit noisy inside than most rival models although for 2015 Kia has added a windshield acoustic sound insulation for the entire model line.
The Optima earns five star score in all the evidence including evidence pole side by the federal government. It becomes the rating good in each test category by IIHS (with the exception of an acceptable in the new front test small overlap). A Blind Spot Detection System and rear parking sensors have been added to the list of options, and are available on all but the base LX model.
Value for money remains at the center but in recent years has added Kia SX models sporting and now the SX L model (limited) both of which could be seen as luxury models if you go only to their lists characteristics. At the top of the line (or, if preferred), there is an eight inch navigation system and telematics, including a suite of UVO eServices (driven smartphone paired driver) plus the sound Infinity eight speakers, HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite Traffic, siriusxm and radio. And through a suite eServices, you can get a number of different extra based app or concierge services.
